The mind is a dangerous place that leads to a maelstrom of conflicting emotions, desires, and expectations. Oftentimes, the mind will conjure a plethora of thoughts and ideas that create the illusion that one needs to achieve a certain degree of something (whether its skinniness, education, power, etc.) to be accepted by society; however these goals are unachievable because obsession with acceptance makes one think he/she needs to do more to get a sense of belonging.
